The American Avocet is a colorful shorebird that breed in wetlands across the prairies and winters in Mexico. This picture was taken at Frank Lake in south-central Alberta early on a cool peaceful morning. The marsh was like a mirror creating a perfect reflection as the Avocet searched for a meal.
