Owl In the Woods

A quiet snowy morning and I'm walking along the trail enjoying the crisp air and peaceful moments.  An intermittent sound, a cross between a raven's rasp and magpie's squawk, comes out of the woods.  Curious, I follow the sound but then it stops.  I look up and see this Great Horned Owl watching me from a branch 10 feet away.  We spend a few minutes watching each other, I take a few pictures, and then leave him and return to my normal route richer for the encounter.
