Our Resident Barred Owl

We haven't seen our resident Barred Owl for a while.  We knew he was out there as we could hear him from time to time but the woods are thick and his camouflage is almost perfect.

This time we were walking and I looked up and saw him sitting on a low branch.  He didn't move so I immediately convinced myself that I was only looking at a tree branch and making up the owl.  Then he turned his head.
