Story Telling Through Negative Space

Story Telling Through Negative Space

The use of negative space can often create the mood that you want your picture to set.  In this case a robin on a fence post creates the start of a storyline that the viewer can fill in and extend.  The negative space engages the viewer to explore what is happening.  A tight shot of the robin would make the picture all about the robin which would make it just another robin picture.
